Follow-up report
The pandemic is once again having a major impact on our daily lives. Parties are canceled, and the mood is at rock bottom. But it doesn't have to be! Bring the party into your living room with our beer pong equipment! Whether it's tables, balls, or cups, you'll only find the best quality with us! Beer pong is still possible even during these special times – with us and without the risk of infection! After the great success during the first lockdown of this year, we started our second series of social distance tournaments last Saturday, November 14th, in cooperation with Kiez Beer Pong. The next tournaments will take place on November 21st and 28th, starting at approximately 6:30 p.m. If you'd like to join us for virtual beer pong at the next event, you can register using this link.
Over 110 teams participated in the first tournament, both in the Pro and Fun categories, and it was a complete success. This success was not only due to the number of participants, but also to the international character of the tournament. Teams were represented not only from Germany, but also from our neighboring countries, as well as from North America and Asia. Furthermore, the donations generated by this tournament helped support the hospitality industry during this difficult time of lockdown.
After a short introduction by the BeerBallers and the Kiez Beer Pong Bar (feel free to stop by), the two tournaments began at 7:30 PM with the group phase. This phase consisted of five teams per group, of which three could advance. The Pros then moved on to the round of 16, while the Funs first played a round of 32. The entire event was streamed continuously on Twitch and commented by three moderators.
Just like the participants themselves, the mood among the organizers and commentators was cheerful and excited about the tournament throughout the evening. And of course, towards the end, some participants were also clearly showing signs of having played a round or two of beer pong, which only added to the generally exuberant atmosphere.
After several close and not-so-close rounds, the finals in the Pro and Fun tournaments were decided around 1 a.m. The final of the Fun tournament pitted the LePavillonPsychos, consisting of Niklas and Markus, against BPB Miss and Mister Gentleman Jack, consisting of Danny and Melina. The LePavillonPsychos won this match and thus qualified for the next tournament in the Pro category.
In the Pro tournament, One World One Pong, featuring Asian representatives from Indonesia (Sang) and Japan (Kenneth), faced Team Roter Speck, consisting of Nico and Rüdi. After a thrilling and close match, the Asian team took home the victory. Their performance, however, deserves special mention, as their match ended at 6:12 and 8:12 local time, respectively. Big hats off to the two.
We hope that many teams will register for the next tournament and that it will be a complete success for everyone. We look forward to seeing you all and see you on Saturday.
